Privacy Policy for Pinball Architect
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Pinball Architect can still be used offline to build and play pinball tables. Some optional features now use Firebase to share tables, load curated featured tables, and support leaderboards.
Information Stored on Your Device
Pinball Architect stores app data locally, including your custom tables, table templates, settings, local progress, recently used sharing names, and recently used leaderboard names.
The app may also store Firebase anonymous authentication credentials and a device-generated leaderboard verification key. These are used to keep shared table ownership and leaderboard submissions working without requiring a user account.
Online Features
Table Sharing
When you create or update a shared table link, Pinball Architect stores the table data in Firebase. This may include:
- The exported table code
- Table name
- Optional author name
- Whether the table was suggested for Featured
- A small table preview image
- App version, platform/source, environment, timestamps
- A Firebase anonymous user ID used to let the same install update the same shared table
Shared table links are intended to be permanent. Anyone with the link may be able to view the table name, author name, preview image, and exported table code.
Featured Tables
The app may download curated Featured tables from Firebase. These records may include table code, name, author, preview image, sort order, and version information.
If a shared table is promoted to Featured, its table details may become visible to users in the Featured section of the app.
Leaderboards
When you submit a leaderboard score for a Featured table, Pinball Architect stores leaderboard information in Firebase, including:
- Player name entered by you
- Score
- Featured table ID and table version
- Firebase anonymous user ID
- App version, platform/source, environment, and timestamps
- Verification data used to help confirm the score was submitted by the app
Leaderboard entries are visible to other users of the app.
Security and Abuse Prevention
Pinball Architect uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase Hosting, and Firebase App Check.
Firebase App Check may use platform attestation services such as Play Integrity on Android and App Attest or DeviceCheck on iOS. These checks help protect Firebase resources from automated abuse and unauthorized clients.
Cloud Functions may also process request metadata, authentication tokens, App Check tokens, IP addresses or hashed IP-based rate-limit records, and temporary leaderboard session data for security, abuse prevention, and cost protection.
What We Do Not Collect
Pinball Architect does not currently use advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Crashlytics.
Regular users do not need to create an email/password account. The app does not ask for your email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or real name.
We do not sell your data.
Third-Party Services
Online features are powered by Firebase, a Google service. Google may process technical and service data as described in Firebase and Google privacy documentation.
App Store and Play Store links are handled by Apple and Google, and their own privacy policies apply when you visit those stores.
Your Choices
You can use the core table-building and gameplay features without using table sharing or leaderboards.
If you use online features, avoid entering personal information in table names, author names, or leaderboard names if you do not want that information to be visible to others.
You can contact us to request removal or disabling of a shared table or leaderboard entry.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Shared table links are intended to remain available permanently, especially for community sharing. Leaderboard data may be retained while the related Featured table version is active, and may be reset or cleared when Featured tables are updated.
Temporary security, rate-limit, session, and log data may be retained as needed to operate and protect the service.
Children’s Privacy
Pinball Architect is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a shared table or leaderboard name, please contact us.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
